Forthcoming August 2020
In these uncertain days we are all sharing distance while attempting to retain connection and community. There is no map of this terrain, art provides only cryptic signposts.
We will only recognise our destination when we stumble upon common ground and meaning shared across the distances of space and time.
Liminal // A shared distance is a collective response to the current situation by Banyule artists, makers, performers and poets. Occupying both physical and virtual sites, Liminal explores the concrete and temporal margins between artist and audience as a place where meaning is created, debated and shared.
Participating artists: Anne Bennett, Jutta Pryor, Felicity Gordon, Claire Needham, Lauren Rhiain Carpenter, Martin Hirst, Tracey Lamb & more.

September 2019
The City of Banyule have awarded Anne Bennett and Onticity Art Projects to produce an ephemeral artwork for a public place within Banyule.
Over a 2-week period Banyule artist Anne Bennett will paint live at the WaterMarc complex. In an ongoing exploration of the murky bends and shimmering ripples of the Yarra and Plenty Rivers and their banks, Anne Bennett will paint a performative work in the foyer. Multiple translucent, inky paintings on floor-to-ceiling lengths of drafting film will encircle the café and windows. An associated children’s art activity will provide families with the opportunity to engage this work and better understand the significance of our local waterways.
