Since the mid 1980s, Anne has exhibited painting, drawing, printmaking, and artist books in over 100 exhibitions, nationally and internationally. She has also curated numerous themed group exhibitions, received numerous awards and residencies, and is represented in private and public collections around Australia, including National Gallery of Victoria.
For many years Anne’s work has investigated dualist themes stemming from the Garden of Eden myth. Recently, with focus firmly on collapsing the Nature/Culture divide, Anne explores our relationship to Melbourne’s environment, Yarra River and Banyule’s waterways, making large-scale public art installations for Melbourne Docklands, Tilde New Music Festival, Testing Grounds, Hatch Contemporary Arts Space, Banyule’s WaterMarc and Warringal Shopping Centre. In April 2022, Anne has developed her large scale paintings in collaboration with Jutta Pryor (projections), Megan Kenny (flute) and Scott Dunbabin (bass) for the Light after Dark performance event at Dimension Art Project Space for the inaugural Banyule Open Studio 2022 weekend.
Anne who holds qualifications in Visual arts from Monash & RMIT Universities & the University of Tasmania, and Arts Curatorship from The University of Melbourne established Onticity Art Projects in 2019. In 2021, Anne was awarded a Banyule Arts Grant to stage Forest of Hope, an Onticity Art Project at the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub in August 2022. This complex multi-sensorial immersive installation will feature creative exchanges between Anne, Jutta, Megan & Scott and foster a variety of public programming and community engagements.
